How do I store my cake?


We advise you place your cake in the fridge, dependant on your occasion and ideally remove an hour prior to your event or let this be the last thing you set on the table.




How long will my cakes last on display?


Our single tier cakes will stand for 6 hours and more and our stacked cakes can stand for at least 4hrs + during cooler climates and in the summer 3-4hrs. In hot climates we do advise placing the cake near a cooling unit.




Can I place my cakes in direct sunlight?


Never place our cakes in direct sunlight, like any human in the heat they will get hot and bothered and start to melt. Never a good look.




Your cakes are so tall. How do I slice them?


The best way to cut your cake is in long strips here's a guide to illustrate. Cutting your cake maybe a little stiff to begin with but as the cake reaches room temperature this will ease.




How do I preserve my left over cake?


To preserve any left over cake, place it in an air tight container with a slice or 2 of white bread and devour within a week or two. Remember to refresh the bread as it dries out.

For longer preservation, our cakes can be frozen in an air tight container for up to 3 months. When you are ready to eat it again, thaw it out overnight and devour within 2-3 days don't forget to place it in a air tight container with a slice of white bread.









Cost and Payment

How much are your cakes?


Our standard four layer cakes start from £95 for our artisan range. We also have short two layer cakes which start at £65. As all our cakes are bespoke and handcrafted to reflect your individuality, prices are dependant on design specification and flavour




Can I get a refund?





How do I pay?


We accept payment by bank transfer. For wedding cakes and large orders placed over two months in advance, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your order. The remaining 50% is due 8 weeks before the delivery date, at which point all changes must be confirmed. For all other orders and wedding cake orders placed less than 6 weeks in advance of the delivery date, payment must be paid in full. Orders are only confirmed once we have received a deposit or full payment.





General

Can I have more than one flavour in one cake?


Of course you can! There is an additional charge for each additional flavour though.




Is there any internal support in the cakes?


All our stacked cakes have internal support to keep our cakes in place. During the summer months, we may place dowels in or single tier cakes to help support the height of the cake. Other wise, no.




How tall are your cakes?


Our standard cakes naturally measure between 17-20cm Tall. Our Extra Tall cakes measure between 25-30cm tall. Our short cakes measure between 8 - 10cm tall.




How far in advance can I order?


We take orders 1 year in advance. We ask you to order as soon as you know when you require a cake! Otherwise we require a minimum of 1 week notice for celebration cakes [depending on design] and 3 months for wedding cakes. We do on occasions take last minute orders this depends on how busy we are on that week




Do you do post samples?


No, we currently do not. We do offer a wedding cake consultation for £65 where you have the opportunity to taste up to three different flavours.




What's the smallest and biggest cake size available in width?


The smallest cake we do is 4 inches, which feeds about 4 people and the widest we go is 10 inches. Our preference is to go taller rather than wider as this is our style and signature.




What kind of events do you do cakes for?


We create cakes to suit any event. Each one is handcrafted to showcase your individuality.




What are your cakes covered with?


Our cakes our covered in either our unique Itlian or American buttercream which is similar to our buttercream filling which dries solid, so you can eat every last crumb - we are a fondant free zone!




Do you offer cake tastings?


Yes we do! We offer a BLUSH cake consultation and tasting session for wedding and large cake orders. We come to you in the comfort of your own home with a bottle of bubbly and up to three mini cakes for your sampling pleasure. There is a £65.00 non-refundable consultation fee payable in advance, which will be deducted from the cost of your cake when ordered. An invoice will be sent and payment for the consultation can be made by bank transfer.




Do you deliver?


We offer delivery around London starting from £15. Delivery and set up of wedding cakes, tiered and large cakes within Central London costs £65.00. Deliveries outside of London will be calculated by distance. Delivery of cakes that do not require set up will be quoted accordingly.




What if I have dietary requirements?


We can offer gluten free and vegan options on request. All our cakes are vegetarian. All our cakes are produced in premises where we also use nuts, peanuts, milk, eggs, soya, wheat (gluten).





BLUSH Service

What is your BLUSH service?


Every cake is lovingly handcrafted to showcase our customers' individuality. We call this making you feel BLUSH (i.e. beautiful, loved, unique, special and human). Before you confirm an order with us, we will speak with you to find out what makes you or the person you are ordering a cake for BLUSH or feel BLUSH. We then use the information provided as inspiration to design your cake. You also get a BLUSH card stating the things that make you BLUSH and how we incorporated them into your cake design.




Do you sketch out ideas & cake concepts when an order is placed?


As part of our BLUSH service we can provide a sketch of your cake if you request one.

Weddings

Do you make wedding cakes?


Yes we do! We love weddings and meeting new couples to discuss their big day and the best way we can match their uniqueness as a couple to their cake design. If you'd like to discuss your big day please get in touch at hello@goodcakeday.com

Return/Refund Policy

I'm not happy with my cake, can I get a  refund?


We work tirelessly to ensure a consistently high quality of cakes and other baked goods so that our customers are always happy with the product and service they receive from us. Due to the bespoke nature of our products and their perishable nature we only offer full refunds if we fail to deliver an item or if it is rejected on delivery. In the unlikely event that a customer is unhappy with their item after delivery, we will only offer a full refund if the item is returned to us uneaten in its original packagang and the same condition it was delivered. If the item has been eaten, we will offer a discretionary goodwill refund if at least 3/4 of the item is returned to us within 14 days of purchase.





Shipping

Where do you ship to?


BROWNIES We offer UK wide delivery for our brownies. With a 2 week shelf life, there's ample time for them to arrive fresh to you. CAKES Our cakes a primarily delivered to London counties however we do deliver accross the UK on request and have delivered cakes as ar as Swindon, Northampton and Southampton. Please email us at hello@goodcakeday.com to discuss delivery if you are outside London before placing an order on our website. CAKE DECORATING SUPPLIES We offer worldwide delivery of our cake decorating supplies. If you are outside the UK and get a free delivery notification, we will email you to confirm the delivery cost within 24 hours of receiving your order if your order comes in on a working day.




I entered the wrong shipping address at checkout, can you please send me a new item?


If you notice you entered the wrong shipping address at checkout, please email us at hello@goodcakeday.com or call us on 0203 105 5854 immediately to provide the correct shipping address. If we do not hear from you before dispatch, you will need to place a new order for delivery to the correct address. If you ordered non perishable items like cake decorating supplies, you can wait until it is returned to us and then pay a new shipping cost to have it delivered to the correct address.
