2016… New Year, New bakes, New dreams (something like that)
Wow! Where has time flown? It feels like the clock struck twelve two weeks ago to usher in the new year. How was new year’s eve for you? Mine was pretty uneventful. I was in the middle of a telephone call when it it happened and I’m pretty sure I missed the actual clock striking moment. Anyhoo! Here we are, it’s the final day of January… what’s been new????
Actually before you answer that, let me start by wishing you a happy, happy, happy, happy new year!!!! (no it’s not too late 😉 ) Now tell me.. watchu been up to? How were the holidays???
Apologies for the tumble weed silence on the blog.. I was in Nigeria for the holidays and a bit. I made a few cakes whilst away (talk about improvisation 101.. ever used evaporated milk in a fresh milk recipe??? I have and it tasted epic!!!!) – Pics below!!!!
Don’t watch my face.. my cousin didn’t wait for me to get ready … Yes I cut my hair 🙂
Crumbly! Crumbly!!! Nom Nom
Learning a bit about angles…
I told you there was a lot of improv.. inc with the oven but don’t watch that…
The crumb consistency was amazing and it tasted divine!!! ! I guess it’s true what they say… don’t judge a book by its cover 🙂
Bet you thought I had more to say on my baking escapades in Nigeria. Nope. that’s it. I do have a few exciting projects this year though. Starting with the good news that I’m hosting the month of February for Our Growing Edge. This is a monthly bloggers event created by Genie of Bunny Eats Design to try and encourage and inspire bloggers from around the world to share their food experiments and kitchen triumphs. Sounds amazing right????? It is! As next month’s host I’ve chosen the theme of “Love in all its forms” to celebrate the month of love 😉
More on that in my next post but in the mean time, should you wish to make an early submission, the link for submissions is here: http://www.inlinkz.com/new/view.php?id=587745
See you soon! Hope to read your submissions too!!!
Until next time… have a good cake day!
xoxo
