Bake me a picure baby!
As with all new years, the desire to learn new skills is usually the norm with most people. I’m no different. After a vacation spent with professional photographers I was inspired to work on my cake photography skills (which let’s be honest was seriously lacking in the skills department).
Armed with new information about lighting, angles and the use of props, I was very excited to apply my knowledge practically. My first cake request for the year couldn’t come quickly enough!
Finally on 16 January 2016 (yes you need the date. this was a special occasion) the cake gods smiled upon me. The sky was blue, the wind was still, the air crisp and cold and a gorgeous six inch rainbow cake decorated with multi coloured chocolate balls had been baked by yours truly. My time had come! Armed with my props, iPhone and more excitement than words can convey I began my first photoshoot. It was magical!
The results ladies and gentlemen are below for your kind perusal. Enjoy 🙂
This is my favourite
Yup. It’s a party and we’re ready TO TURN UP!!!
Those colours… Swoon and the reflection in the bowl (brought to my attention by one of the aforementioned professional photographers)
Fascinated with the forks 🙂
Look at those colours 🙂
I hear it’s all about perspective
I’ll never look at forks the same again 🙂
Have you taken up any new hobbies this year? Are you a budding food photographer? I’d love to hear about your journey, tips anything really 🙂
Until next time… have a good cake day!!!
XOXO
