Dine Around the World With Love

My! My! My! February was a hoot! I hosted the February edition of Our Growing Edge and the entries have been fantastic. The theme was love in all its forms and all the entrants more than delivered. I thought it would be really cool to divvy up the entries into the continents they came from to highlight the global reach of Our Growing Edge (ironic really seeing as my geographical knowledge leaves a lot to be desired – Anyhoo!).

So without further ado ladies and gentlemen, I give you a tour of love inspired dining experiences from around the world!!!! – Remember to show a lotta love to the contributors’ pages 🙂

Good Cake Day – African Print Cake – For the love of art

I put myself under Africa even though I’m based in the UK otherwise the continent would be left out 😉 and it’s no lie I AM Nigerian and my post for February incorporated an African print design to demonstrate my love for cake decorating 🙂

Sweet Meets Bake Shop – Chocolate Forever Cookies with Nutella Cream Cheese Frosting + History of Nutella

From Ohio USA, we have a chocolate lover’s heaven! In fact they’re sooo good Jordan reckons they’ll have you bellowing your new war cry of “CHOCOLATE FOREVAAAAARRRRR!!!!!!!!”

Sweet Meets Bake Shop – Strawberry Pop Tart Pops + Chai Conquers PINK Dog

Now here’s a treat guaranteed to brighten up a loved one’s face. Especially if that loved one is a child feeling left out of the otherwise grown up Valentine’s shenanigans.

Next Stop tbd – Martha Stewart Linzer Hearts (Part II)

I knew I wanted to go to Detroit. Now I’m sure 🙂 Hazelnut heart shaped cookies! Is there much else better? Check out Hannah’s experience of making these beauts! Also, I love her life motto – next stop to be decided 🙂

Julia Slaughter – Flavour Friday: Pizza Roses

Julia from Mobile, Alabama just got me very excited! I mean it’s a pizza rose!!!! I want! I want! I want! The creativity is simply ingenious 🙂

Andre’s the Home Baker – ♥ Crabmeat & Coconut Jelly Cocktail ♥

Andre from Hong Kong is giving me life right now. I love coconuts and I love crabmeat. The thought to combine both to make a jelly cocktail has never crossed my mind but it looks amazing!!! When the good summer months come, this is something to try!

Andre’s the Home Baker – ♥ Sweet Potato Mochi Cake ♥

If there’s anything I love more than making a cake I already know how to make it’s learning about new ingredients to bake with. Sweet potato is one I’ve heard about and Andre’s Sweet potato Mochi cake is now on my trydo list 🙂

Miamivores – Love is in the air: Candied honey orange peels

Thahn Ahn from Miamivores shared this amazing recipe from Vietnam for Candied honey orange peels. There’s nothing like the sight of oranges to make a Spring chicken like myself smile with glee!!! I particularly loved her focus on sharing love with friends.

The Spice Adventuress – Chocolate Fudge Cake with Milk Chocolate Buttercream and Fresh Strawberries

If you’ve never considered going to Australia, I’m sure you now will! C’mon if you’re a chocolate lover, do I even need to say anything after you read that heading???

Vermilion Red – The love + ice blocks

It’s all happening in Australia! Clearly, I’m pining for Spring and Summer because this recipe had me day dreaming. As ice-lollies and long walks are love’s young dream to my mind. this is definitely a winner! Even better, Jordan dedicates this post to talking about world love! Such a trooper!

Amoredelcibo – Cielo Blue – Diamond Creek

Here we have a meal experience at Cielo Blue on Valentine’s day. As a fan of “Come Dine with Me” I love me a good food review as well as a warm dessert with ice-cream and this sticky date pudding drenched in caramel sauce topped with fresh ice cream looks to die for!!!

Mostly Food & Other Stuff – Valentine’s Day at The Lobster Pot in The Galway Bay Hotel

From Ireland we very aptly fall into some luck!! Two food reviews in one post 🙂 this time a four course meal from the Galway Bay Hotel with items such as lobster salad with watermelon and pistachios, prawn tagliatelle in a lemongrass sauce and creme brûlée. Swoon!!!!

Cooking Trips – Red Love for Breakfast

Gotta love France! There’s something so satisfying about a simple healthy breakfast and Sophie of Cooking Trips captures one of my favourite summer breakfasts in her post 🙂

Bunny Eats Designs – Valentine’s Day Aphrodisiacs

Good ‘ol Genie from New Zealand lays out a platter! Nothing screams valentine’s day or the love month of February louder than aphrodisiacs and Genie did not disappoint with her selection of goodies. Frankly, I think these should be tried whenever 😉

Work Eat Laugh Repeat – Dumplings

Gotta love this final entry from New Zealand.

I love dumplings! It’s as simple as that. I’ve tried making them with little success but I love eating them and Chef Scotty B just may have me convinced that I may one day be good at making them too. Check out his recipe!

Wow!!! What a line up! Wasn’t that an epic journey of amazing food??? You can participate in March’s line up of our Growing Edge which is hosted by.. of…

Until next time… Have a Good Cake Day!!!

XOXO
